Established in 1968, the North River Arts Society (NRAS) is a grass roots non-profit organization fostering participation and appreciation of the arts.
The NRAS offers classes in many mediums at all levels for adults and children.
They also sponsor a Festival of the Arts, Members Show, Childrens' Day, Holiday Arts Sale, workshops, scholarships, financial aid, newsletters, discounts for classes and supplies, musical and theatrical performances at the hall, a writers workshop, and exhibits at Ventress Library Gallery, Dolphin Gallery, G.A.R. Gallery and the artists cooperative Little Gallery.
The Scituate Art Association manages the Front Street Gallery, located on Front Street in the Scituate Harbor area. Julie Uhler is one of twenty artists represented by the Gallery.
The Scituate Arts Association is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers. For over 45 years, they have been an active, integral part of Scituate initiating countless programs that weave the art of life into the life of the community.
The SAA works with the Scituate Library Foundation and the Scituate Council on Agiing by offering classes and events aat community locations. They continue to make an artistic impression on teens, coordinating events with Scituate High School, and awarding an annual scholarship to a deserving senior who shows a promising future in art.
